The socials.download Facebook downloader saves a public Facebook reel, video, Page post or photo to your device. Paste the link — including a facebook.com/share/ link, which is resolved for you — and the file downloads at the quality Facebook publishes it. One thing to know before you start, because it is the difference between this working and not: only content that is genuinely public can be saved. Facebook does not serve a post limited to the poster's friends to anyone who is not signed in, so most personal-profile posts cannot be fetched by any tool, this one included. Public Pages, public reels and public videos work. Facebook Stories are never available.

Limitations

Only public content downloads. A public reel, video, Page post or photo works; a personal-profile post shared with friends only is not served to a signed-out request at all, and the site says so rather than failing vaguely.
Stories are never available. Facebook redirects a signed-out request for a story straight to its login page, so there is nothing to fetch.
A post with several photos returns the main image, not every image. Facebook does not expose the rest of the set to a signed-out visitor.
An account link returns the profile's name and picture. Listing that account's posts needs a logged-in session, so the post grid is not shown.

Troubleshooting

It says the post is not public, but I can see it when I am logged in.: That is the difference between your account and a signed-out visitor. If the poster limited the post to friends, Facebook serves nothing at all to anyone who is not signed in, so there is no file to save. Seeing it yourself does not make it public.
A Facebook Stories link will not download.: Stories cannot be downloaded. Facebook only serves them to a signed-in account the poster shared them with, and redirects everyone else to the login page. This is a Facebook restriction, not a limit we chose.
I pasted an account link and got the profile picture instead of their posts.: That is what an account link returns. Listing an account's posts requires a logged-in session, which socials.download does not use. To save a specific post, open it on Facebook and paste that post's own link.
A post had several photos but only one downloaded.: Facebook does not expose the rest of a photo set to a signed-out visitor, so what comes back is the post's main image. Opening each photo on Facebook and pasting its individual link saves them one at a time.
The link came from the Facebook app and looks nothing like the post.: The app shares facebook.com/share/ links, which do not say what they point at. Paste it as-is — it is resolved to the real post before anything is downloaded.

Mobile and desktop

On desktop the file downloads straight to your downloads folder. On a phone, saving opens your device’s native share sheet so you can put the file in Photos or Files. Either way there’s no app to install and no socials.download account.

File quality and watermarks

socials.download does not add a watermark of its own and does not intentionally transcode or recompress the file returned by the source endpoint. Whether the file already carries Facebook or creator branding depends on the media Facebook serves.

Copyright and authorization

Download only content you own, have permission to save, or are otherwise legally entitled to use. socials.download does not bypass private accounts, paywalls, login walls, or DRM.
