Limitations

Only public posts work. A post limited to connections, or anything behind the login, is not served to a signed-out request at all.

Document and carousel posts are not supported. A slide deck is a PDF attachment rather than a media file.
An account link returns the name, headline and picture. Listing that account's posts needs a logged-in session, so the post feed is not shown.

Troubleshooting

It says the post has no video or image.: Text-only posts, shared article links, and document carousels have no media file behind them. A shared article shows the publisher's thumbnail on LinkedIn, but that image belongs to the article, not the post.
A post you can see while logged in will not download.: That is the difference between your account and a signed-out visitor. If the post is limited to connections or a private group, LinkedIn serves nothing to anyone who is not signed in.
A post had several images and only one downloaded.: LinkedIn does not expose the rest of an image set to a signed-out visitor, so what comes back is the post's main image.
You pasted a profile and got the profile picture.: That is what a profile link returns. Listing an account's posts needs a logged-in session. Open the specific post on LinkedIn and paste its link instead.
A document or slide-deck post will not save.: Those are PDF attachments rather than media files, so there is no video or image to return.

Mobile and desktop

On desktop the file downloads straight to your downloads folder. On a phone, saving opens your device’s native share sheet so you can put the file in Photos or Files. Either way there’s no app to install and no socials.download account.

File quality and watermarks

socials.download does not add a watermark of its own and does not intentionally transcode or recompress the file returned by the source endpoint. Whether the file already carries LinkedIn or creator branding depends on the media LinkedIn serves.
