Snapchat downloader

Download public Snapchat Spotlight posts and Stories

The socials.download Snapchat downloader saves public Spotlight posts and public Stories to your device. Paste a Spotlight link to save that video, or paste a profile link to browse an account's Spotlight posts and its current public Stories and pick what you want. No socials.download account is required and you are never signed in to Snapchat. Only public accounts are reachable: snaps sent to someone directly are private, and nothing here can see them.

Supported Snapchat link formats

  • https://www.snapchat.com/spotlight/<id> — a single Spotlight post
  • https://www.snapchat.com/@<username> — a public profile
  • https://www.snapchat.com/add/<username> — the share form of a profile link

Paste any of these on the home page.

Limitations

  • Only public accounts work. Snapchat serves nothing about a private account to a signed-out visitor, so there is nothing to preview or save.
  • Public Stories are shown while they exist. Snapchat expires them, so an account that posts regularly can still show nothing right now.
  • Lenses and Discover channels are not downloadable. A Lens is an AR asset rather than a post, and there is no media file behind it.
  • Snaps sent directly to someone are private and are never reachable. Only Spotlight posts and public Stories are.

Troubleshooting

The account loads but shows no Stories.
Snapchat expires public Stories, so there is often genuinely nothing active. Spotlight posts stay up and will still be listed.
Nothing loads for an account that exists.
The account is not public. socials.download only reaches publicly visible media and does not sign in to Snapchat on your behalf.
A Lens link will not download.
A Lens is an augmented-reality effect, not a post, so there is no media file behind it. The same is true of Discover channel links.
A Story has several snaps and you only want one.
Each snap in a public Story is listed separately in the account preview, so you can save exactly the ones you want rather than the whole Story.

Mobile and desktop

On desktop the file downloads straight to your downloads folder. On a phone, saving opens your device’s native share sheet so you can put the file in Photos or Files. Either way there’s no app to install and no socials.download account.

File quality and watermarks

socials.download does not add a watermark of its own and does not intentionally transcode or recompress the file returned by the source endpoint. Whether the file already carries Snapchat or creator branding depends on the media Snapchat serves.

Copyright and authorization

Download only content you own, have permission to save, or are otherwise legally entitled to use. socials.download does not bypass private accounts, paywalls, login walls, or DRM.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download a Snapchat Spotlight video?
Copy the Spotlight link from Snapchat, paste it into socials.download, and save the file when it resolves. No account is needed.
Can I download someone's Snapchat Story?
Public Stories, yes. Paste the account's profile link and its current public Story snaps are listed alongside its Spotlight posts, each saveable on its own. Private Stories and snaps sent directly to someone are not reachable.
Will the person know I saved their snap?
There is no notification, because socials.download is not signed in to Snapchat at all. Screenshot and replay alerts happen inside the app between two accounts; there is no account of ours for Snapchat to attribute anything to.
Can I download from a private Snapchat account?
No. Snapchat serves nothing about a private account to a signed-out visitor. socials.download does not bypass privacy settings or log in.
Does the video keep its original quality?
It is saved from the same file Snapchat serves to a viewer. Nothing is re-encoded, and there is no watermark added by socials.download.
